Visitation will be held on Sun. Feb. 19, 2017 from 1p-5p at Indiana Funeral Care on Allisonville Rd. A private Funeral Mass and Burial will take place on a later date.

Michael “Mike” Lee Byrne of Indianapolis passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in his home. Mike was born on November 17, 1957 in Whiteland, IN.  He graduated from Warren Central High School in 1977.  He was a dedicated employee of Major Tool and Machine for 39 years as a Process Engineer.  He married the love of his life and the yin to his yang Angela “Angie” (Bolaños) Byrne on May 21, 1983 after dating for 2 years.  He was an active and engaged father to his three children and raised them in Warren Township on the eastside of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara (Davis) Byrne; his grandparents, Charles and Mavida Davis, and his parents-in-law, Raul and Patricia Bolaños.  Mike is survived by his wife; his children Jennifer “Jenn” (Alicia) Harding, Vanessa (Mike) Byrne, and Alan Byrne; his dad, Harry Eugene “Gene” (Kim) Byrne; his older sister, Terri (Jeff) Stroman; and many adoring siblings-in-law.

Mike enjoyed woodworking, golf, classic rock music, a good Napa Valley wine, and spending time with his beloved wife and family. A generous and loving spirit, Mike donated a large amount of his time to others through his talents of woodworking and do-it-yourself projects. He had a charming and lively way about him and was always available for a bear hug.  Mike’s laughter was boisterous and he loved to tell stories from throughout his life.  Mike liked to keep busy and he started a side business called Legacy Engineering and Manufacturing, LLC to be a further expression of his craftsmanship.  This allowed him to work alongside his son.

Visitation will be held on Sun. Feb. 19, 2017 from 1p-5p at Indiana Funeral Care on Allisonville Rd. A private funeral mass and burial will take place on a later date.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association in Mike’s honor. Please visit www.indianafuneralcare.com to view the full obituary and sign the guest book.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to Mike’s family. Jesus promised at John 5:28, 29 that the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. In the meantime, may the God of all comfort (2 Cor. 1:3) support you in this time of sorrow.
